I knew I wanted to do a lot of stuff for Super Mario Bros.' anniversary, mainly finishing the playlist for the game on the channel. I didn't get to get around to most of it until the very end of the day, though... While I was in school, people seemed to be having fun with a lot of Slider-based rips, in the meantime.

Someone on the team even started making a NES-themed arrangement of the song, but seemed to be having difficulty; I asked them if I could give it a go on my own, and was told to go nuts.

This was the result! Combining the swung drums from the original Ground Theme, some bassline ideas I had from a previous arrangement and the Ground Theme (again), and a transcription of the banjo arpeggio I had lying around, I managed to pull something together on the day...

...And people seem to like it more than most of my high-effort works.
