Nobody quite remembers how it started, but it was a running joke in the SiIvaGunner team to compare Rabi-Ribi to Kirby; we ended up making a lot of rips based around the concept after one of us discovered the game and recommended it to the rest. Even now, I think it's not too hard to see why. Its highlight boss battles feel a bit Kirby-ish, especially the main game final bosses; it directly homages Kirby 64 with Ribbon, its deuteragonist...

...And its soundtrack feels like an hypothetical scenario exploring what if Kirby composer Jun Ishikawa went full-on DnB in spots. This track in particular translated super well to Kirby's Dream Land 3 samples, I think!

It's really a fun game, despite its terrible art style and presentation. I'm glad I was recommended (and gifted!) the game! I had a blast... I go back to it sometimes in the hopes of unlocking yet another achievement still. Maybe I'll make more comparisons between it and Kirby sometime?
